Copyright Copyleft

In the business of music (and movies) there has been the issue of copyright ever since cassette tapes could record music off the radio, later with CDs and now with the dominance of the internet in our lives and the openness of it, downloading music  that copyrighted is very easy and free. This is changing the way we listen to music and creation of music, the profit models are changing and so is the culture of music.

There is a neat little documentary I came across a long while back called "Steal this film" (2006) which explored these ideas and more, followed by "Steal this film II" (2007 or 2008) the sequel. And released under creative commons along with "Steal this footage" which is the extra footage of interviews which didn't make it to the "Steal this film II" full movie documentary. I collected those from the sites and here they are for everyone to use, remix, and enjoy:
